Expert advice galore on offer at Fleet Business Show
A raft of expert advice on best practice occupational road risk management will be available at the 2008 Fleet Business Show, which is being held on April 29 and 30 in London, and RoadSafe will be one of the leading exhibitors...
Around 100 companies and organisations from across the fleet industry are expected to exhibit the event. And a packed seminar programme is designed to provide show visitors – managing directors, HR director, finance directors, procurement specialists as well as fleet decision-makers - with up-to-theminute fleet advice on key fleet issues.
With occupational road risk management top of the boardroom fleet agenda, Road Safety Minister Jim Fitzpatrick will be presenting the business case for ‘saving lives and saving money’ on April 30. Joining him at the seminar will be Nigel Wilkinson, head of health, safety and the environment at T-Mobile and one of the first ‘Business Champions’ under the Government’s ‘Driving for Better Business’ programme, which is being managed by RoadSafe.
On the opening day of the show, Inspector Tony Browne, manager of Hampshire Police’s Road Death Investigation Team, will tell delegates exactly what driver, vehicle and company information police officers require from bosses when they investigate a serious road crash involving an at-work driver.
Inspector Browne, who will be speaking in the same month that the long-awaited Corporate Manslaughter and Corporate Homicide Act is finally implemented, will be joined on the platform by Jon York, British Gas’s award-winning fleet operations manager, and another ‘Business Champion’, who has put numerous safety initiatives into action.
Fleet Business Show organiser Ross Durkin, publisher of fleet titles Fleet World, Van Fleet World and International Fleet World, said: “The very best in fleet will be at the Fleet Business Show.
“The event is an ideal forum for face-toface meetings, fact-finding to uncover the very best fleet suppliers have to offer in terms of helping your company improve cost control and operating efficiencies and seminars designed to enhance management and director knowledge and ensure vehicle operations are at the cuttingedge of best practice.”
