Firms open to prosecution

Thousands of organisations are leaving themselves open to potential prosecution under the Corporate Manslaughter and Corporate Homicide Act because they have failed to identify and assess risks and implement solutions...

With many organisations taking a piecemeal approach to risk and assessing only in single areas of their operation, for example, drivers, Hertfordshire-based strategic risk management consultancy RiskFrisk has launched fleetriskprofiler.com. Billed as a strategic management aid, the technology enables organisations to make a step change in the way they manage their cars, vans and HGVs and related risks to reduce their exposure and costs, thus improving corporate profitability.

Fleet Risk Profiler assesses an organisation’s risk across 13 different sectors including vehicles, drivers, management support, site, loads, journey types and roads used. A total of 250 questions need to be answered to provide organisations with a risk rating and a series of management reports. Managing director John Stevens, who has spent 30 years in corporate risk management, said: “No other risk product interrogates the full range of fleet and related risks at all levels and within a supply chain.”
