Research Bursary Available

27 August 2009

With support from the Institute of Advanced Motorists (IAM), a one-time bursary is being offered by The Prince Michael International Road Safety Awards to assist with supplementary expenses, in association with a research project on driver or rider behaviour. The award is a bequest from a fund established by family, friends and colleagues in memory of Christopher Bullock, the former IAM chief executive who died in 2007.

Applications are sought from research institutes, university PhD students and companies or organisations promoting best practice in the behavioural aspects of road safety. In their submissions, applicants should set out the objectives of the proposed research, provide a short CV, an estimate of the financial support being sought, start and finish dates and a letter of support from an academic referee. Funds may be used to cover operational, equipment, report production and travel costs. Research findings will be published in the IAM magazine.

Submissions and further queries should be addressed to awards@roadsafe.com

The deadline for applications is 20th October 2009.
