'Business champion' Arval hosts free road safety event for companies

13 February 2010

At least 70 companies were represented at a major occupational road risk management event  organised by Driving for Better Business ‘business champion’ Arval.

The leading safety-focused fleet and fuel management company partnered Wiltshire Fire and Rescue and Swindon Borough Council to run the seminar on February 2,  free for any South West based company to attend.

Essential for companies that have employees who drive on business, the event was a follow-up to an Arval seminar last July, which was the first of its kind to be held to promote road safety to local businesses.

The event  provided business representatives with crucial information on the legal risks that they and their drivers face, examples of occupational road risk management best practise and the financial benefits of investing in road safety.

Arval has a proven track record of supporting businesses in the road safety arena having won a Prince Michael International Road Safety Award and been one of a small number of companies invited to sign up to the European Union Road Safety Charter.

Tracey Young, Fleet and Road Safety Manager at Arval, who has championed the company’s road safety focus, said: “This event pulls together road safety experts to provide content that is relevant and useful to businesses. Most importantly, its powerful messages are guaranteed to create a lasting impression on the day and inspire companies to take the safety of their staff whilst they drive for work very seriously."
