Major driver safety programme for National Grid

1 August 2006

Drive & Survive provides assessment and training for up to 8,000 employees

International energy delivery business, National Grid, takes the safety of its employees very seriously and is implementing a wide-ranging programme of assessment and training for anybody who drives on company business, using leading provider Drive & Survive.

In the new programme, all employees will be required to complete Drive & Survive's online driver risk assessment, which will analyse the driver's likely exposure to risk and allow the most vulnerable to be quickly identified. Anybody thought to be at high risk will be invited to take part in on-road practical coaching without delay, which, in a non patronising, non intimidating way, and raises drivers' awareness of the risks that routinely threaten them.
