1.6 M people benefit from philanthropy

5 February 2013

The Road Safety in 10 Countries Project (RS10) is a project funded by the Bloomberg Philanthropies spearheaded by Mayor of New York Mr Michael Bloomberg. The four year project has, since 2010, led concrete road safety actions which benefitted 1.6bn people. These impressive results look to increase as the programme continues.

Round 3 of the Road Safety Grants Programme is now accepting applications.

Initiated in early 2012, the grants programme is part of the Road Safety in Ten Countries (RS10) programme, funded by the Bloomberg Philanthropies and managed and administered by the Global Road Safety Partnership. Proposals will be accepted from organizations working in the countries covered by RS10: Brazil, Cambodia, China, India, Kenya, Mexico, Russia, Turkey and Viet Nam.

Mayor Bloomberg was selected as the winner of the first ever Prince Michael Decade of Action Award presented to him by The Prince in 2012.
