Eco-Safe Driving Tender available

Following a successful bid last year Sheffield City Council secured funding from the government's Local Sustainable Transport Fund, and are now offering out a tender (reference YORE-979F2E), for fleet trainers to bid for. The project is based around eco- safe driving techniques.

Initially it will involve training up to 100 South Yorkshire based Approved Driving Instructors in eco- safe driving techniques. These ADI’s will then work in businesses around South Yorkshire under the guidance of the successful contractor, training business drivers in eco- safe driving techniques. Sheffield City Council anticipates up to 4000 business drivers will benefit from this training involving around 100 companies.

The project should address both organisational culture within the business and provide individual drivers within the organisation the key skills required to reduce the impact vehicle use has on the environment, whilst improving road user safety.
