Royal Award for ingenie

15 November 2013

ingenie has been awarded the prestigious Prince Michael International Road Safety Award for 2013, recognising its  innovative use of telematics car insurance to help under-25s become safer drivers.

Using ingenie black box insurance as a co-pilot, 70 percent of the company’s community of young drivers have demonstrated improvements to their driving. ingenie blends education, the latest technology and discount incentives on car insurance to encourage under-25s to improve their behaviour on the road.

The ingenie technology provides a feedback loop to drivers, giving them detailed advice via a smartphone app on aspects such as speed, braking, cornering and smoothness. The company offers financial incentives in the form of quarterly premium discounts to customers who drive well.
