PACTS Autumn Conference

The forthcoming PACTS conference entitled “Driverless vehicles: from technology to policy” will be held on the 22nd October 2014, at the premises of Thatcham Research in Berkshire.

The conference will bring together vehicle technology experts and policy makers to explore how new technologies can best be exploited to reduce crashes, achieve casualty reductions and improve safety for road users.

Chaired by professor Pete Thomas from Loughborough University the confirmed participants include:

• Peter Shaw (Thatcham Research)
• Scott Pendry (Association of British Insurers)
• Ian Yarnold (DfT)
• Dr Samantha Jamson (Leeds University).

Delegates will have the opportunity to view new technologies and hear from, and question, experts. The conference is intended to be timely for the Government’s review of regulations for testing driverless cars and the Transport Select Committee’s ‘Motoring of the future’ inquiry.
