Safe Roads Safe Kids Global Road Safety Summit

15 October 2014

The Safe Roads | Safe Kids Global Road Safety Summit, has been organized by Safe Kids Worldwide, an international non-governmental organization devoted to preventing injuries to children. This important event, focused on reducing traffic-related deaths and injuries among children worldwide, will be held in Washington, D.C. on December 11th-12th, 2014.

This much-needed event will concentrate on the key action steps that all of us can take to end this epidemic and start reducing the number of deaths and injuries among children. It will bring together key stakeholders from all over the world who are committed to making a real difference. The summit will include:

Sessions on the road safety topics most important to children;

  • Internationally recognized invited speakers;
  • The announcement of a new award for an outstanding child road safety innovation;
  • Recognition for leaders who promote safety for children in and around our roads; and
  • Release of a six-country research report on knowledge, attitudes and behaviors on road safety for children in Brazil, China, India, Qatar, South Africa and the United States.

The summit is aligned with the goals of the United Nations (UN) Decade of Action for Road Safety and will provide an opportunity to plan events in conjunction with the third annual UN Global Road Safety Week in May 2015.

Safe Kids Worldwide is united with our generous supporters, FedEx, GM Foundation, and the FIA Foundation, in the belief that all of us must do more to protect our children. We hope you will attend the Summit and commit to take strong action steps to safeguard the next generation. Safe Kids- Walk this way won a Prince Michael Award in 2011
