A busy month for the Driving for Better Business programme

28 November 2008

The Driving for Better Business team, as well as several of the business champions have been busy throughout November, highlighting the issue of Work Related Road Safety (WRRS) and presenting their case studies at various events. The team was recently invited to attend the Police’s regional Senior Traffic Officer Conferences (STOCs) to provide a briefing on the programme. Driving for Better Business was a key feature of the LARSOA Conference on 12-13th November in Durham, whilst the BVRLA seminar series has also been a useful platform to promote the progamme’s core messages.

As well as Arval and Wolseley, Greene King’s Paul Blackman has also been active in promoting his case study and Driving for Better Business recently at the FISHnet Annual Conference in Mattishall, Norfolk.

Kevin Cook, from TNT Express, will be showcasing his company's approach to WRRS at the Fleet Van Conference on 2nd December at the National Motorcycle Museum (http://www.fleetvanconference.com), while Centrica’s Jon York will be continuing his full schedule of presentations at the Fleet Risk Forum on 3rd December at Smithfield in London (http://www.symposium-events.co.uk/fleetrisk/).

December promises to be no less busy. RoadSafe Director, Adrian Walsh, will be hosting a panel discussion at the Road Safety Expo in London on 1st December, while a2om will provide the venue for a round table meeting for Driving for Better Business champions on 3rd December.

The annual Prince Michael International Road Safety Awards will also be taking place the following week, on 9th December at the Park Lane Hotel, London.
