Support hub for learner drivers

1 July 2018

To cooincide with the learner drivers being allowed on UK Motorways Highways England and a group of transport organisations have set up an online Driving Hub to provide support for the learner drivers, their parents and others.

It has worked with Department for Transport, DVSA, DVLA, the Driving Instructors Association, Approved Driving Instructors National Joint Council, Motor Schools Association of Great Britain and driving technology company Trak Global in setting up the website.

They also plan to launch a free smart phone app later this summer.

Driving Hub hub provides a series of free instructional learning modules to help drivers and instructors prepare for a change in the law that will allow learners to take lessons on motorways. It includes a range of tutorials in areas including safety checks, driving on high speed roads, reading the road and managing incidents and breakdowns, as well as a dedicated section for learner drivers.
