Join us for the third of Project EDWARD’s speed management webinars, taking place on Wednesday 17 September at 1100. The focus will be on rural roads, the most dangerous routes on the network, accounting for 70% more fatalities than urban roads and around four times the likelihood of death per collision.
We will be joined by Dyfed-Powys Police and Crime Commissioner Dafydd Llywelyn, Mark Bromhall from NFU Mutual and Sean Maher from Quartix as we seek to gain a better understanding of the complex challenges created by rural roads.
We will explore how diverse road types, unclear speed limits and limited enforcement create unique risks for rural drivers. How can we reduce the impact of hazardous road conditions and driver behaviour on speeding and collisions? We will seek out innovative strategies that combine engineering solutions, credible policies, public education and emerging technologies to enhance compliance and safety.
