The NPCC co-ordinates a number of operations throughout the year, receiving widespread support from police forces across the country. The focus for Operation Spotlight in Sept/Oct 2026 is young drivers.
September is the peak month for KSIs overall and is also one of the top months for collisions where a fatal four is a contributory factor. It also ties in with children returning to school, the start of university and many people returning to work after the summer break. Further details can be found on the NPCC Roads Policing web page.
This campaign will run in conjunction and alongside ROADPOL’s ‘Road Safety Days Operation‘ which runs from 16th – 22nd September 2026.
