Poor Driving Conditions

16 October 2023

As the seasons change, the winter nights drawing in and the clocks soon going back an hour, National Highways and Driving for Better Business have produced advice and tips for motorists about driving in poor weather conditions.

On average, 13% of all fatalities and serious injuries on the Strategic Road Network include weather conditions as a contributing factor to the incident. Of these, 78% occurred in the rain (four times more than any other adverse weather condition).
