New resource launched for learner drivers

22 October 2014

Produced in conjunction with the DVSA, which sets the driving tests, FirstCar Provisional Edition can be accessed for free.

James Evans, publisher at RoadSafe partner FirstCar comments, “For more than a decade, FirstCar has guided new drivers through every aspect of the learning, buying and owning processes. Every year, three quarters of a million driving test candidates receive a copy of both our Theory and Practical editions.

“With more than 1.5 million people getting their provisional driving licence every year it made sense for us to produce something specifically for them. The adoption of a digital platform means anybody can access FirstCar Provisional Edition easily, plus we’ve been able to make it much more interactive”.

The new resource is:

  • The first digital magazine from new driver experts FirstCar
  • Free to access, fully interactive, created for smartphone, tablet, PC
  • Produced in conjunction with the Driver & Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA)
  • Contains information on every aspect of the initial stages of learning to drive

Bill Pope, head of publishing for the DVSA, comments: “The DVSA has been working successfully with FirstCar for three years in reaching young people. We’ve been giving a magazine to everyone at their theory and practical test stages, with a hugely enthusiastic response. Now, with this new, digital edition of FirstCar we can reach them at the start of their driving career – when they receive their provisional licence. It’s when they really feel the need for sound advice and are at their most eager to learn, so we’re thrilled to be able to help.”
