Free International Toolkit Helps Make Roads Safe

22 February 2009

Building on decades of research into causes and prevention of serious injury on roads, the Road Safety Toolkit offers engineers and planners a free resource on the cost and life-saving potential of more than 35 safety countermeasures.

In addition to advice on countermeasures, which range from basic line marking to complete highway duplication, the Toolkit helps engineers and planners tailor safety plans for all road users, including car occupants, cyclists, pedestrians, heavy occupants, motorcyclists and public transport users.

The Road Safety Toolkit programme was managed for gTKP by RoadSafe and is delivered is collaboration between iRAP and the ARRB Group.
