Older Road User Safe Mobility Digital Knowledge Platform

24 July 2019

As announced in the UK Government's 2019 Road Safety Statement, we are working with Road Safety Analysis, RAC Foundation and IHE to take forward the work of the Older Drivers Task Force by widening its scope to address the risks to older road users, concentrating on the most vulnerable.

This programme will identify and promote examples of initiatives including planning and infrastructure design as well as social programmes which aim to provide safe mobility for older citizens. It will do so through workshops, a conference, a report and the launch of a digital platform for use by professionals to share a best practice review of road safety risks for older road users.

We will be conducting the workshops and an evidence-gathering programme over the next eight months. We welcome inputs and evidence from any organisation or team which has experience or knowledge in this area.

Should you wish be involved, join the consortium or direct us to good relevant research or good practice in the field, please contact us here.
