Road safety summer school
Aimed at professionals dealing with road safety issues, the five-day 2016 European Road Safety Summer School is designed to provide participants with the opportunity to expand their knowledge and expertise in this field.
The course will present an integrated approach to road safety, based on best-practice examples from countries across Europe, alongside ample networking and knowledge exchange opportunities. The summer school is targeted at road safety professionals working at national, regional and local levels, road safety interest groups, police, spatial planning and road infrastructure departments, consultants, engineers, administrators and researchers.
Topics covered across the five days will include:
- road safety indicators
- education and awareness raising
- infrastructure
- enforcement
- the European road safety framework
- high-risk road user groups
- national and international strategies
- data-driven policy
The course is organised by the ETSC and the VSV, working in partnership with the Transportation Research Institute (IMOB) of Hasselt University, and Europe’s police force network.
