A further step in vehicle safety standards in India.

Update from The Times of India.

All new car models in India will need airbags for front seat passengers by April 1st 2021.

The ministry has said this mandatory provision across all cars irrespective of their class and price is being brought in to boost passenger safety. Union road transport and highways minister Nitin Gadkari has maintained the government will not compromise on passenger safety.
