Annual Report from the Global Road Safety Facility
The GRSF 2023 Annual Report highlights GRSF’s key achievements in fiscal year 2023. In FY23, GRSF funded the assessment of over 16,400 km of roads, trained over 2,000 professionals, and published ten articles and reports. With new grants approved totaling $2.85 million, the active GRSF portfolio in FY23 amounted to $12.6 million, spanning 61 activities and covering 36 countries and several regional and global initiatives.
GRSF continued to boost road safety financing through its role in informing and catalyzing World Bank investments. In FY23, GRSF catalyzed $323 million of new road safety financing approved by the World Bank. In addition, a total of US$2.28 billion of newly approved transport investments by the World Bank—spanning 13 projects and 11 countries—were informed by GRSF with respect to road safety. These investments will save thousands of lives and prevent countless injuries in the years to come.
