A Road Collision Investigation Branch

28 October 2021

The UK Department for Transport has announced a consultation ‘Deepening our understanding of road traffic collisions and how best to address them: Consultation on establishing a Road Collision Investigation Branch’

The consultation proposes the creation of a Road Collision Investigation Branch, which would investigate road collisions, primarily on a thematic basis, to better understand the causes of road collisions. This knowledge would be used to make recommendations to improve road safety policy, with the aim of improving road safety and reducing incidents resulting in Killed and Seriously Injured (KSI) casualties.

Please see link to the announcement and further details of the consultation here.
