Have a safe TRIP this autumn
Driving safely during any season is essential but is especially important when faced with the challenges of autumn. National Highways help motorists to be prepared and have a safe TRIP this autumn .
The campaign goal is to encourage drivers to plan their journey in advance, including all necessary vehicle checks as well as factoring in rest stops before they set off on any long or significant journey.
Before setting off:
- make sure you get a good night's sleep before your trip
- avoid alcohol the day before as this can disrupt sleep and affect your driving the following day
- know what medications you're on and how they affect you
- avoid driving between midnight and 6am when you’re likely to feel most tired
