Detailed, disaggregated, in-depth information about injuries after crashes are almost non-existent. This programme from Burkina Faso, Benin and Mali aims to produce this data by developing data collection applications for smartphones for police and health care workers.</p>\r\n\r\n<p>It is backed by an inter-disciplinary team composed of African and European researchers for this project.</p>\r\n\r\n<p>There has been a lot of investment and effort to improve road safety (including post-crash care) in West Africa in the last two to three years and this is a fine example of the outputs of this coordinated approach.
