The Future

21 January 2011

It is four years since the Department for Transport asked RoadSafe to develop and deliver an outreach programme to take a business message to businesses.

Since then, the Driving for Better Business Campaign has been endorsed by over six thousand businesses and organisations. All manage people who drive for work or provide services for companies that believe reducing the risk on the road is a vital element of their business proposition.

Central to the campaign are our business champions – more than 50 companies and public sector organisations that are prepared to step forward to champion good practice in work related road safety – 'good management of people delivers improved efficiency, reduces cost and makes the business safer and more sustainable.’

The Department for Transport has rated the campaign as, ‘beyond expectations’, but in light of need to provide economies it will cease its financial support grant later this year.

The campaign must now enter a new phase and work with our private and public sector partners to continue to support them in delivering their powerful message to other businesses.

We aim to do this with your cooperation and continuing support, and welcome suggestions on how best to work with you to grow the campaign further. We look forward to working with you in the future.
