Business champion takes duty-of-care message on the road
Driving for Better Business champion Langleys Solicitors, is taking its occupational road risk management message to other public and private sector fleets in a series of roadshows.
The firm is one of more than 50 business champions in the Driving for Better Business campaign, which shares best practice for the management of at-work road safety within the business community.
Langleys has already passed on its expertise to representatives of around 160 employers at various events, and it will continue spreading the at-work driving gospel to more fleet decision-makers later this month.
On Wednesday, February 16, partner Jeremy Scott, who has championed the road safety strategy at Langleys Solicitors, will be speaking at a workshop at its offices at Queen’s House, Micklegate, York. He has previously spoken at occupational road risk management events hosted by Harrogate Borough Council, the Health and Safety Executive and the Harrogate Group of the Institute of Advanced Motorists.
Mr Scott said, “People attending the events are very receptive to what we have to say. Through the work that we have done to make our own at-work drivers safer on the road coupled with our knowledge of the law in relation to occupational road risk management, it means that we are able to impart a significant amount of advice and information.”
Over the years, the firm’s employees have been involved in very few accidents and since becoming a business champion fleet the organisation has been crash-free.
