AXA helps to raise road safety awareness around schools

23 April 2013

To help tackle safety around schools, AXA insurance is launching a RoadSafe Schools campaign which aims to make the areas around schools safer for children and drivers. Working alongside a range of experts from the road safety, education and parenting fields, AXA  will be looking to create a new way for schools and parents to understand the safety of the areas surrounding their schools across the UK.

As part of the campaign, thousands of schools will be assessed according to safety criteria and schools with safe surrounding areas will be used as examples to help other schools and to encourage investment from local authorities.

Axa plans  to visit and assess as many schools across the country as possible. To help us do this, volunteers will need to complete a RoadSafe Schools Assessment Form to capture simple yet vital information like speed limits, road markings and other traffic controls in the areas around schools. So, if you do the school run or regularly drive past a school then you can help!
