DfT Road Safety Comparison website is updated

9 October 2013

The DfT has updated the Road Safety Comparison website with 2012 data on Stats 19 casualties, road traffic and road lengths and residential population data.

The site will also be updated with 2012 local authority revenue expenditure later this year.

Designed to allow local people, lobby groups, practitioners, authority officers and councillors to compare local performance information on road safety in their area against other areas, it lets them make their own assessment of performance.

It  is designed to “increase transparency and build a capability to help citizens and communities solve problems in their area”. The commitment to create the site was part of the Strategic Framework for Road Safety.
