Driver assessment helps specialist agency defy recession

15 June 2009

Driver assessment ahead of their deployment by specialist recruitment agency Drivers Plus is helping the Bradford-based company shrug off the impact of recession.

The independent agency has seen its turnover increase from £1.8 million in 2007 to £2.7m in the year to May 2009, whilst gross profit has increased from £210,000 to £505,000 in the same period.

With a year-on-year increase in gross profit totalling 140% in the last three years, managing director and founder Richard Oldfield claims the company, which specialises in the recruitment of HGV class one and class two drivers, is the only one in its sector to independently practically assess every candidate before they can be placed, to ensure their driving ability and customer service skills are of the highest standard.
