Safe System Strategies for Eliminating Work-Related Road Deaths

This PACTS Spring Conference will work to identify safe system strategies that will assist companies and organisation reduce work related road risk and ensure they play their part in the safe system and benefit from reduced costs and delays.

Work-related road traffic collisions (RTC) are estimated to contribute to a third of UK road deaths (565 people) and a fifth (5,620) of serious injuries. In November 2020, PACTS released a comprehensive report titled “What kills most on the roads?” The analysis revealed that per mile travelled, vans and light goods vehicles surpass all other vehicle types in causing deaths among road users, exceeding even the fatality rate associated with HGVs.
