The European Commission publishes the “Safer roads for all: the EU good practices Guide”.

10 April 2018

The European Commission has published the “ Safer roads for all: the EU good practices Guide”.

The Guide has been realized by the DG Mobility and Transport and it contains a foreword edited by the EU Transport Commissioner Violeta Bulc. The Guide represents an attempt to review all the European activities in the field of Road Safety.

This Guide mentions SaferAfrica as one of the most important EU-funded projects in the field of Road Safety: “The European Commission is ready to work with all countries inside or outside the EU to share knowledge and present our latest policy developments. Road safety related activities launched under the research programme Horizon 2020 have increased information exchange and fostered partnerships with the EU’s eastern and southern neighbours. And the EU also reaches out to Africa in the SaferAfrica project, which aims to create a dialogue platform between our continents focused on road safety and traffic management issues".

Thus, SaferAfrica is an excellent example of a successful project, able to foster the exchange of information about Road Safety beyond the European Union.
