UK Road Safety Week: No need to speed.

‘No need to speed’ has been announced as the theme for this year’s UK Road Safety Week, which takes place between 16th -22nd November.

Established by Brake more than 20 years ago, Road Safety Week seeks to raise public awareness of road safety issues, and is intended to act as ‘the driver for positive change on UK roads’.

The theme for 2020 will encourage everyone to learn ‘the what, the why, and the where’ of speed. It will also highlight that whether a person is walking to school, cycling to town or driving to work, the speed of traffic matters to their safety.

The theme has been selected on the back of a survey which suggests only a quarter of people believe that vehicles travel at a safe speed on the street where they live.
