Technology: Curse or Cure?

RoadSafe supports the safe system approach to road safety management. The introduction of predictive and active safety systems in vehicles such as ESC; and the role of new technologies in road design and driver information, education, training and driver management all have important roles to play in this approach.

Oliver Carsten, Professor of Transport Safety at the Institute for Transport Studies, University of Leeds, whose main area of research tackles the interplay between new technology and road user behaviour will deliver The 19th PACTS Westminster Lecture on 2 December in London.
