Since its inception, JH-IIRU has played a leading role in road safety around the world and builds on its history of cutting-edge research projects, innovative capacity development programs, and adaptive practice portfolio to strive for safer roads globally. Its research and evidence have been significant in developing policies and programmes during the Decade of Action.</p>\r\n\r\n<p>Through work in understanding the epidemiology and risk factors for road safety, JH-IIRU has generated evidence and new data on the science of road safety as well as developed strategies and data collection tools available as resources across the field.</p>\r\n\r\n<p>Over more than a decade of innovative research and practice, JH-IIRU has cultivated a network of collaborators and trainees now managing key positions around the world. Through the Unit&rsquo;s service arm capable of offering scalable expert consultations, local and national governments, agencies, and institutions can adopt and maintain critical road safety strategies and interventions.</p>\r\n\r\n<p>JH-IIRU has played a leadership role in advancing the field of road safety for over a decade in all three areas of the unit&rsquo;s work &ndash; research, capacity development, and service, and is firmly committed to continue doing so for decades to come.</p>\r\n\r\n<p>At its core, JH-IIRU receives ongoing institutional support from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health.</p>\r\n", "Commendation" : false, "Year" : "2019" } }
