ICFM increases risk management focus through ‘Driving for Better Business’ campaign partnership

15 December 2009

An increased drive to raise greater awareness among fleets of the business benefits of pro-actively managing occupational road risk will take place following the decision of the Institute of Car Fleet Management (ICFM) to officially support the ‘Driving for Better Business’ campaign.

The ICFM, the UK’s only independent ‘not for profit’ organisation dedicated to furthering the education, recognising the achievements and advancing the profession of car fleet management, has become a campaign partner.

The ICFM, which currently has over 450members, will seek to actively recruit new ‘business champions’ from within its ranks. In addition, the organisation will:

  • Promote the ‘Driving for Better Business’ campaign to members via its website - www.icfm.com - and with promotional literature in student packs
  • Distribute ‘business champion’ case studies to members to highlight the financial, business, legal and moral benefits achieved by implementing a safe-driving business culture across their transport operations.

The campaign currently has more than 40 partner organisations including the Association of British Insurers, ACFO, Association of Chief Police Officers, Association of Industrial Road Safety Officers, British Vehicle Rental and Leasing Association, Department for Transport, Driving Standards Agency, Federation of Small Businesses, Health and Safety Executive, Highways Agency, National Business Travel Network (NBTN), ORSA, Think!, Transport for London, TRL, and VOSA as well as vehicle manufacturers, fleet supplier companies, risk management specialists and insurers.
