28 January 2010

New studywhich  aims to help make Britain’s roads ‘safest in world’ reveals that:

• two-thirds of English trunk road single carriageways rate 2-stars

• 78 per cent of dual carriageway network rate 3-stars

• 50 per cent of motorways reach the expected 4-star level

Two-thirds of England’s 1,600 km of single carriageway trunk roads win only a 2-star rating according to a report by the Road Safety Foundation which has inspected 95 per cent of the 7,000 km Highways Agency (HA) network in England.
