Free road shows for new I-Size car seat standards

30 April 2013

Road Safety GB has joined forces with the child car seat manufacturer Maxi-Cosi and Child Seat Safety to offer road safety teams and other road safety stakeholders the chance to learn about important changes in child seat safety standards.

Changes to the safety standards for child restraints are being introduced across Europe, including the introduction of the I-Size car seat standards which will start from June 2013.

Therefore, Road Safety GB, Maxi-Cosi and Child Seat Safety are organising a road show across the UK during May 2013 in order to brief road safety professionals about the new legislation. The road show will visit Manchester (13/5), Glasgow (14/5), Durham (15/5), Leicester (21/5), Bristol (22/5) and London (23/5).

Each of the six two-hours sessions will give participants the opportunity to listen to experts, learn about advice to give out to the public, prepare publicity material, understand what best practice should be, and ask related questions.

Julie Dagnall, Road Safety GB’s car seat specialist and co-founder of Child Seat Safety, said, “This is a fantastic opportunity for road safety professionals to be prepared for the changes and to strengthen their knowledge on the new and complex safety requirements.”
