Transport drivers education roadshow

1 June 2006

A UK transport “roadshow” has begun to educate thousands of the country’s professional drivers about drink driving.

The UK Traffic Commission has called in the TTC Group - the UK’s leading alcohol training organisation - to educate 4,000 LGV and Public Service Vehicle operators in a series of nationwide training sessions being held from Scotland to the Isle of Wight.

TTC, with more than 45 trainers, will deliver training to freight owners and managers of coach, bus and lorry operations at 25 UK venues.

The first was attended by 110 operators in Wakefield in May with the final session teaching operators in London in March 2007. More
