With skidding as the main cause of traffic accidents involving serious injury or death, stability control has been hailed by automakers, suppliers and road safety advocates as the most promising eSafety technology on the market

The ChooseESC! campaign promotes the technology and was presented at the ITS World Congress and Exhibition in Beijing 11 October 2007 as part of a special session on the progress of the European Commission Intelligent Car Initiative

The German Chancellor Angela Merkel has given her support to the Choose ESC! campaign.
