PACTS launches a Timeline of Opportunities in Road Safety.

7 April 2017

PACTS has launched a Timeline of Opportunities in Road Safety.

The timeline – freely available to everyone on the PACTS website – provides dates of key events, decision points, consultations, publications and other opportunities to positively influence road safety polices and outcomes. It is a resource for all those seeking to improve road safety.

It is a resource available for all to use and the purpose is to help the road safety community and others to better plan and coordinate their efforts. Organisations are asked to contact PACTS with information to create multiple strands stretching further into the future.

Examples of events on the timeline include:

  • Consultations
  • Legislation and parliamentary activity
  • Events and campaigns
  • Statistics and data
  • Reviews of regulation
  • Publications and research

Each event on the timeline features a brief explanation and a link for further information. Events are categorised using the five pillars of the Safe Systems approach to road safety.

The timeline will be regularly monitored and updated with new information as it appears.
