Project EDWARD hear from those directly affected by road safety issues and to learn from international best practice. Whether a policymaker, road safety professional, driving instructor or concerned parent, your voice matters in this vital discussion around the protection of young drivers.
Chaired by Joy Allen (Durham PCC) and Philip Seccombe (Warwickshire PCC) and joined by -
- Dr Ian Greenwood, who lost his daughter in a road crash, will share his moving story and advocacy for safer driving practices.
- We will also welcome a representative from Young Drivers of Canada, where a robust graduated licensing scheme has delivered significant reductions in young driver casualties - offering valuable lessons for the UK.
- Terry Cook, a seasoned driving instructor and host of the popular Instructor Podcast, will provide practical insights from the frontline of driver education.
- Dr Rob Torok, an experienced emergency medicine consultant, will speak about the human cost of road trauma, drawing on his experiences treating young people with life-altering injuries
