Running a Safe Fleet
This Fleetnews special report on Running a Safe Fleet looks at how to create a safety culture and implement a driver behaviour programme, as well as tackle root causes of incidents.
Safety & compliance will always be the top priority for companies running vehicle fleets. Keeping drivers and other road users safe is the ethical thing to do. No one wants to receive the phone call that says one of your drivers has been killed or has killed another road user or pedestrian. The ultimate cost is human life. But there are also myriad other reasons to take safety seriously. Crashes are expensive; every incident hits your company’s bottom line. Cost to repair – and the subsequent impact on insurance premiums – hire costs, vehicle off-road time, driver off work, third party claims: a single incident can easily run into tens of thousands of pounds.
