ScORSA Driving for work: Fit to Drive Conference

06 June 2023 Edinburgh COSLA Conference Centre

On June 6 2023 at the Edinburgh COSLA Conference Centre, ScORSA will be hosting a fit to drive workshop for members and wider road safety community in Scotland focusing on driving for work, driver health and older drivers.

The day will be split up into a morning session and an afternoon session.

Morning session
The morning session has four speakers covering older drivers, and will be aiming to review the data here in Scotland, the driver and employer responsibilities, fitness to drive and then how to have that conversation with older drivers as colleagues and/or family members.

Afternoon session
The afternoon session features an opportunity for 25 delegates to attend the Workplace Sleep Ambassador programme. We'll also be featuring the ‘destination drive’ project, delivered in Ayrshire last year, alongside the older driver simulator.

Topics on the day will include:

  • Why are we focusing on Older Driver’s?
  • Older Drivers at Work
  • Safe and Healthy Drivers
  • Supporting Older Drivers to make the right choices.
