Young Driver Focus Event 2016

20 April 2016

RoadSafe is delighted to be able to support the Third Young Driver Focus conference which will take place on the 20th April 2016 at the RAC Club Pall Mall.

The conference will examine current and future thinking with regard to this vital issue, and what is being done now and in the future to improve the situation.

The government is committed to funding in-depth new research to identify the best driver education, training and behaviour-change interventions for learner and novice drivers and to considering new technological interventions in addition to traditional learning methods. It will also do more to understand young drivers’ attitudes and to support increasingly targeted communications to high-risk groups. This conference will offer a chance to hear at first-hand how this can be achieved.

Topics and themes under consideration are:

  • Around the country: a round up of young driver education, training and publicity campaigns being delivered around the UK.
  • Modern methods: a look at modern methods of engaging with young drivers.
  • Priorities and pointers for RSOs: a summary of the key things RSOs could/should be doing to positively influence young driver behaviour.
  • Pre-driver training: does it work?
  • Campaign/intervention evaluation: a step-by-step guide
