Prince Michael International Road Safety Awards recognises international campaigns raising the awareness and improving the health and safety of road users.

The YOURS Academy is a media innovation that has created a brain-friendly, youth-focused, free online learning school that enables self-paced learning through an award-winning training methodology. Having trained more than 2000 youth in less than two years, the YOURS Academy takes complex road safety theory and knowledge and packages it in a fun way to educate youth on their biggest killer on the road: road traffic crashes, and the practical steps needed to tackle the issue through advocacy and action.

The ”Fit for Road Campaign” by the Forum for Prevention of Road Accidents (FPRA) in India improves the health and safety of tanker truck drivers transporting hazardous goods. Utilizing mobile health teams, it provides health check-ups and road safety education, leading to better health outcomes, fewer accidents, and increased compliance with safety standards, benefiting drivers and their communities.

A key innovation is the deployment of mobile health units—clinics on wheels equipped with medical equipment and staffed by healthcare professionals. These units travel to truck terminals, providing on-site health check-ups and eliminating the need for drivers to visit distant medical facilities. This approach minimizes downtime and ensures timely medical attention. The mobile units perform comprehensive health screenings, including vision tests, blood tests, and ECGs, making healthcare accessible directly at drivers’ workplaces.
