FIA High Level Panel for Road Safety honoured with Royal Award.

11 December 2018

The FIA High Level Panel for Road Safety has been honoured with a Royal Award for its promotion of key safety messages.

It has brought together global corporate CEOs, ministers and UN leaders to elevate attention and funding for the global road traffic injury crisis.

The #3500 Lives campaign led by the High Level Panel is the first ever global outdoor road safety advertising campaign. Named after the number of people who lose their lives in preventable road traffic crashes every day on the world’s roads, the campaign brings major celebrities to call for personal and political commitment to road safety, as well as a properly resourced UN Fund for Road Safety to meet the challenge of the Sustainable Development Goals.

It was run in partnership with automobile clubs from around the world with outdoor advertising space, provided free of charge by JCDecaux as a pro bono contribution.

It is the first ever global outdoor road safety advertising campaign and an example of the leadership being shown by the Panel.
