ITF Annual Road Safety Report

22 January 2025

The Annual Report 2024 from The International Transport Forum highlights that only seven IRTAD countries are currently on track to achieve the ambition of halving fatalities and serious injuries by 2030 as set out in the plan for the Second Decade of Action for Road Safety.

The report highlights that 2025 will be a pivotal year for road safety, marking the mid‑term of the deacde. The 4th Global Ministerial Conference on Road Safety, being held in ITF member country Morocco from 18 to 20 February 2025, will provide an opportunity to review progress made so far. It is also expected to inspire renewed commitments from policy makers worldwide, setting the stage for more concrete actions during the second half of the decade

The report also notes that all countries must persevere with their efforts, using data and evidence to prioritise road safety on the political agenda.
