Speed and Safety Cameras

25 August 2010

RoSPA has also issued a valuable evidence-based defence of speed cameras entitled: “Ten Reasons to Maintain Speed Camera Enforcement”.

Speed cameras form the corner stone of our enforcement system and the evidence shows that they have had a significant impact on compliance.

RoadSafe keen on an informed public debate but believes that it is held within an overall context of speed managemen,t rather than solely about the funding and management of enforcement cameras.

To ensure that the debate is based on sound information and fact, we will launch a month long virtual symposium which will make public the best available research, knowledge and advice from national and international experts in the field. The September Speed Symposium will be launched next week.
