PACTS asks for help with Summertime campaign.

21 September 2010

The Parliamentary Advisory Council for Transport Safety (PACTS) is asking for help persuading Parliament to vote in favour of Single/Double Summertime (SDST) to save lives on our roads.

A Private Members Bill proposed by Rebeccas Harris will be debated in December. It calls for cross-policy research to be conducted, specifically looking at the impact which Single/Double Summertime could have, leading to a 3 year trial based on supporting evidence.

In March this year, PACTS joined the Lighter Later coalition and has since been working together to gather support for Rebecca’s Bill. Single/Double summertime carries a wide range of benefits of which more can be seen on the Lighter Later website.

Please see the PACTS policy briefing for further information.
