Local authorities cutting casualties: Building on Beacon winning best practice

1 September 2006

Tuesday 17th October 2006

The PACTS conference will be a major contribution to the road safety Beacon Council Scheme, providing the only remaining opportunity this year to hear from all six Beacon local authorities in depth and in context.

In addition to the Beacon winners, PACTS will be looking at the wider context of local authority road safety with contributions from:

  • Marianne Hood, Chair Beacon Council Panel
  • Phyllis Starkey MP, Chair House of Commons ODPM Select Committee
  • Bill Smith, Scottish Accident Prevention Council

This will highlight practical examples of excellence in road safety and consider the support necessary from government for local authorities to continue their success in cutting casualties.
